Salt and Pepper

Tasked with designing a salt shaker and pepper grinder, I approached the problem by tying the two together with the semantic of night and day. The concept was taken from sketches, explored in blue foam, and finally executed in hardwood. The final pieces were given a production finish and were fully functional.

The finished grinder and shaker. I used a combination of maple and cherry, both strong closed cell woods for a long life and durability.
