Nike Back Your Block - A campaign that recognizes the proud and visible members of urban communities, aiming to inspire teenage contribution. As Art Director, I created the identity system and all necessary collateral, from signage, to apparel, to window displays, and more. I also directed the photography (as shot by Boone Speed). The logo uses a blocky typeface that represents equality, proximity, and eludes to a city map of highlighted blocks. These aspects are carried conceptually throughout all pieces.
Island Orientation System - Part of a wayfinding system for Insel Reichenau, an island in Germany. This job was part of my studies at Anhalt University, home of the Bauhaus. Pictograms are based off of the typeface Magda Clean, and were built out into maps and posters.
The George Eastman House & Museum - Created as a project during my studies at RIT, the Eastman House is known for its vast photography and film collection, preservation techniques, as well as the life of George Eastman. The logo's SLR viewfinder reference encompasses the idea of perception, protection, and history. Perception of an individual's experience within a museum; Protection within brackets; and the History of Mr. Eastman himself.
Germany : Experiential Book - Senior Project, Spring 2007; A 114-page visual essay of imagery and disjointed vocabulary that represents my six-month experience living and studying in Dessau.
Nike Run Club - A nationwide program of group runs organized through each city's Niketown. I created the Logo, Visual Center and collateral for this year. Other build-outs included In-Store Retail Elements, Lightboxes, and Various Signage.
HP Solutions City - HP was looking to commission a 10 x 40-foot illustration for a wall at their Third Party Trade Show that would exhibit, in a playful manner, a world that has been infiltrated by HP's newest technology and products. Shown is one building, the previous sketching process, and the final product in finishing. The illustration is now custom installed in HP offices.
REPORTER Magazine - Printed and distributed at RIT, it's the only 4-color weekly campus magazine in the country. -Iraq Issue: Tattered flag feel, charting U.S. soldier casualties, war support, and more. -Music Issue: Local musicians; 6,000 hand-stuffed CDs. -1st Issue Back: Tip-In Not-Just-Campus Maps for freshman. -Press Article: RIT Library's letterpress (directed photograph). -Bathroom Article: On best graffiti & comfort. -New Orleans Issue: Staff Photojournalists visit the aftermath.
Nike Women's Marathon - The Marathon is 26.2 miles with over 23,000 runners, and over $18 Million raised for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A 43-foot start structure, a 100-foot tent structure downtown, and a 100-foot finish structure gives a rough idea of its size. Tasks at hand included building out the visual center into graphics of all shapes, sizes, and materials throughout the year, and for the big day.
Nike 5K For Kids - Recently named the 2007 Youth Running Program of the Year by Running USA, this annual event is run throughout 8 different cities nationwide. It hopes to encourage physical fitness in children, and as of February '08, has raised over $1Million for city PE Programs. I established the Visual Center off the pre-established logo. The intention for design & illustration was to evoke the sense of activity & playfulness the event promotes, as well as elude to the idea of chalk lines & coloring books.
Hurricane Katrina Poster Project - Public Service Poster from a series done for the Hurricane Katrina Poster Project, intended to encourage the relief efforts in New Orleans after the tragedy in 2005. Don't Let the Relief / Support / Soul Bleed Out... Digital Print & Stencil with Spray Paint
Coalition BMX - Coalition BMX is a parts manufacturing company, with sub-companies Hell on Earth (a clothing company) and Coalition Press (a screenprinting press). They are a small group of friends that invent innovative parts that put them at the top of the food chain. The logo, lookbook, and various marketing pieces were created for a project at RIT, with input from Coalition BMX partners.
