INDORSIA Band Logo

The logo for the Austrian band INDORSIA started off simple. Five people – geometrical form – pentagon … What could I do with a pentagon in order to make it interesting and also support a concept for the band. After some crudely drawn forms I decided to "look at the project from another angle". And this I did – literally. I decided on a crystalline form for the pentagon and drew a 3D model of it. The next step was the most intriguing: Looking at it from different angles.
Deciding whether or not to show the whole form, just a grid … In order to correspond with the clarity and structure of the band's music, I chose a clear, transparent form and tried many different versions and viewing angles before deciding on one. To give the final form a nice, round and stamp-like feel, and also a sense of coherence, I enclosed the crystal in a circle (representing the sun) – a tribute to pink floyd's "dark side of the moon?" … maybe
