This client was launching a line of emergency supplies for both institutional and retail customers. While the institutional line only needed to be clear and complete, the retail products needed shelf appeal. My challenge was to find a family image that was dramatic without being too cheerful or too pessimistic.
The NOAH in-store displays were pyramids of 6-gallon buckets stacked on pallets. I needed a point-of-sale display that could be shipped flat and was inexpensive to produce. Each face of this triangular display measures 12" x 18".
ADC produced a line of drawing slates for Dale Earnhardt, Inc., featuring both Senior and Junior. I also produced prototypes for novelty puzzles (top right) featuring other NASCAR drivers under the Coca-Cola sponsorship.
This was a very cool concept - a cardboard race car (kiddie size) that echoed the real thing. The idea would have carried forward with customizable decal stickers.
I worked with a local photographer on this calendar, a project to raise money and awareness for charity. I designed the logo and created the layouts.
Each month features a different model and classic vehicle.
Here are thumbnails of the twelve calendar pages. The photographer, Donna Larkin, recruited the models, arranged for hair, wardrobe, and makeup, and solicited the classic cars for each shoot.
The project also offered the photos as desktop wallpaper. This is the CD label.
Carousel Games was created to capitalize on the parent corporation's supply of paper goods. I created a suite of classic games - Chess, Checkers, and Bingo - and designed a simple board game based on racing.
The "FASTCAR" game was a turn based game for up to four players. A roll of the dice would move the player towards the Winner's Circle, gaining laps, making pit stops, crashing, etc. The player cars, trophy, and prize check were all paper and cardboard.
To give the game extra dimension and visual interest I created various "sponsors" that woud give the player an advantage in the race when acquired.
More sponsors.
And still more sponsors.
These twelve calendar designs were created as a hook for a line of picture frames.
