Concept Weight For the first concept, I wanted to explore the immense weight one's vote has and the importance of that decision. Your vote affects everything from the President down to the amount of school tax you pay. Your choice will affect you and your family for years to come and needs to be treated with the respect it deserves.
State specific packaging to ensure the correct ballots are going out. This will also add to a collectability of saving one's packaging each year.
An unprinted envelope with embossed coat of arms holds your pristine ballot along with any other voter information. Unprinted will allow for the envelope to be used across all states. A red twill lined lid is a subtle nod to the red, white, and blue of the American flag upon first opening of the box.
You need to feel the Weight of your vote. Two extra layers of rigid box board go into the base hidden from the voter. These extra layers will add a surprising weight to the box, that the voter will feel.

Unboxing the Ballot

What if we treated the ballot with the respect it deserves and created more of an at home experience? For this project, I explored what our ballot process could be and disregarded the obvious cost of creating ballot packages for all voters.
