These two logos were designed for a bakery in Delhi, out of which the first one was used. The idea was to create a logo that was symbolic of a bakery and items used in a bakery. I used the graphical representation of lining paper used to make cupcakes and muffins for they are available in various designs and cutouts everywhere around the world making for an interesting design element. The rough texture of the font suggests the tactile and tangible textural quality of the baked items such as bread, cookies, cake, etc. The three leaf like design directly represents the wheat grains.
The second design simply represents a chocolate cake with mint icing on top (the text).
This was designed for an architect (mainly). The initials 'D' and 'R' of his name 'Danish Rahman' are juxtaposed to create a structure that end up making an 'L' in the negative space of the composition. The 'L' represents an 'L' shaped room common in architecture language that is used in a plan of a building. The idea was to keep the logo simple and symbolic of the profession of the person
This was a part of our college assignments in the the second year of Bachelor's. We were supposed to choose a profession and create an identity (logo, visiting card and letterhead) for the same. I chose animator because I had this character in mind (used in the logo) for an animator's identity which I had developed around a 'porcupine' standing upright. The spikes of the porcupine were turned into the letters of my name 'Merina' crowning its head.
This logo is for a venture of a leading gas company, GAIL. MNGPL is a new venture of GAIL for a pipeline to be established in Mandovi area of Goa. The brief was to create a logo that represented the vision and core dynamic of the company. I created a allegorical structure composed of pipelines with a 'flame', essentially a 'Flare Stack' that is used in every gas company. The 'flame' indicates the proper functionality of the gas plant which should never burn out and thus it became the main element to represent the spirit of the company metaphorically. The waves represent the river Mandovi which was in the location of the site where the pipeline was to be established.
These are logos for a sound record company (Sharda Devi Records) based in Hyderabad, India. The brief was to create a logo that was denotative of Indian mythology (goddess Saraswati devi of knowledge in particular) with an overall psychedelic leitmotif. The flower lotus is the 'vehicle' on which goddess Saraswati ensconces hence, it became the main element for the logo. Lotus grows in water so the blue waves represent that. The glow effect behind the lotus and the choice of dark colors collectively provide the psychedelic nature of the logo.
These are the two logos that were finalized for a service provided by Thomas Cook when I was interning with JWT (Mumbai). The brief was to create a logo that was symbolic of Indian culture and tradition. I chose the color maroon, a color very symbolic of Indian festivals and Indian weddings (the color is dominantly used for the Indian wedding trousseau), two very important parts of Indian culture. Another important cultural design element is the mango paisley which is incorporated in the design in the form of 'I' of the initials of the name 'Indian Indulgence'. It ends in making a heart in the center, an involuntary element to suggest a welcome greeting for those who wish to travel to India.
