I designed a brand new, modern and more functional Kitchen for the client. Kitchen was hand built in Texas by two Sicilian craftsmen from ARTE Design.We took down one of the walls between the kitchen and butler's pantry to add more counter space and natural light to the kitchen. I configured the space plan and added some vertical storage. For the breakfast nook I had ARTE Design build a little bench with storage and corner tables on both sides. This serves as a spot for the client to browse one of his many cook books, or enjoy coffee in the morning. Originally The Great Room had a standard size fireplace with shelving on both sides, which I though was a wrong scale for a large, two stories high space, so we tore out the existing fireplace and I designed a new 21 feet high fireplace / media compartment with niches on both size to display the art that the owners have collected from their travel around the world. The fireplace was built of beautiful tile from Porcelanosa ( with accent chrome strips) . The fireplace has a built-in compartment that hides the TV when not being watched. Niches on both sides have hidden strip lighting to illuminate the displayed artwork that sit on a glass shelving. We used scrap wood from the project and built panels with floating shelves around those windows. Kitchen - Concept - Complete Remodel for 6,000 + sqf home in Colorado Springs. This is an ongoing project to be completed by the mid September. This is a suggested and approved concept for a complete kitchen remodel. The existing kitchen is not satisfying the modern tastes of the owners, and it's not practical.

Kitchen Concept

Great room - BEFORE - Great room needed a complete renovation. More modern look, and how about that tiny, lonely media wall. It's just all too small for space that is 18' x 20' and 20' in height. Click next to see my proposed and approved concept

Great Room - Concept - a full height media wall, modern linear fireplace, TV above it, that can be hidden behind a panel when not being watched. on both sides tall display niches lighted with strip lights that glass shelving will allow travel through. Furniture: Le Corbusier Grande sofa, Corbusier 2 seater and barcelona chairs with cowhide. Above it a clutter of Nelson pendants

Loft - BEFORE - Loft upstairs is meant for some more casula together time with family and relatives. Watching TV...if there was a proper space for a TV and media cabinetry....This Architect could have placed one large window on just one of the walls and left the other wall alone....thankfully I like challenge -> ->

Loft - Concept - To work around the small linear windows and to play with the asymmetry, this wall installation will be constructed from 2 x 4's that are various lengths and depths and have floating shelves attached and light strips under shelves to provide some cool lighting.
