Various projects since I started designing back in February 2012. I've been grinding ever since, constantly working on getting better. I might revisit some of these in the future.
Xtep Streetball Lateral - My first ever, actual rendering and serious attempt at footwear design. The brief wanted a shoe inspired by hip hop/street culture, so I tried to incorporate some of the four pillars of hip hop (MC, DJ, break, and graffiti). The ankle collar is molded to resemble the scratching motion of vinyl, while lateral support is in the form of an orange sound wave. A midfoot strap adds for some lockdown and style. This was done for the MESH01 Xtep Streetball competition.
Xtep Water Rhythm Lateral - This was for the Xtep Water Rhtyhm competition on MESH01. This was done on February 6, 2012. The brief wanted a lifestyle shoe for women, inspired by water. Yeah, looking back, this is a pretty cluttered design that could be simplified much further.
Xtep Water Rhythm Medial - This was for the Xtep Water Rhtyhm competition on MESH01. This was done on February 6, 2012. The brief wanted a lifestyle shoe for women, inspired by water. Yeah, looking back, this is a pretty cluttered design that could be simplified much further.
MESH01 PENSOLE Prep School Entry: adiZero Rose 3 - This was my submission for the PENSOLE Prep Schoool comp on MESH01, back on February 22, 2012. I didn't win, but it did provide me with the thought of paying attention to presentation layout. Got to make each image count.
UA Huckalo Lateral - This was for the Under Armour Women's Huckalo comp on MESH01. This was done on Feburary 26, 2012. I think I got a little carried away with the swooping, organic lines again...

CounterkickxPEAK Basketball Storyboard - This was for the CounterkicksxPEAK Basketball comp, back on March 9, 2012. The theme was "When the lights are out." It referred to what athletes do to better themselves when it's not game time. I was inspired by the thought of repetition and how that is similar to paper folding, like origami or pleating. I managed to make the Top 10 Finalists. Shout out to Brett Golliff and Trung Tan for taking the time to provide valuable feedback.

Ariaprene Graphic Rendering: Shoe - This was for the Ariaprene Graphic Rendering comp on MESH01, back on April 22, 2012. They wanted designs for a brochure that would promote the application of their material for a full body wetsuit, a shoe, and a laptop case. I was awarded 6th place.
Power Force - This was for the Power Force "Design the YOU Shoe" comp back on May 4th, 2012. I tried to do something that would go well with the logo itself, but I probably ended up making something that would put the average person off. On to the next one.
PENSOLEOGRAPHY/adidas Entry: adiZero Manuever - This was my submission for the PERSOLEOGRAPHY Talent Search Comp with adidas on MESH01, back on May 15, 2012. I wanted to do something different from the usual hoops shoe, so I turned in the direction of another sport that I'm huge on: tennis. This is meant to be a balanced shoe between the Feather and Barricade spectrums of their marquee tennis line.
Floyd Mayweather 1 - This was for the "Design for Floyd Mayweather" comp on Talenthouse, May 21, 2012. I was inspired by what gladiators wore back in the day, and I wanted to come up with a more modern update. It needed to be lightweight and secure, but still be stylish. The angled lines of the upper are derived from his movements in the ring. Floyd can quickly change direction, evade his opponents and strike efficiently with his speed.
