Ker plunk is a much loved board game.However, through research and testing the original product many faults came to light. 2 examples are;
1. Faults with construction.
- The original Ker Plunk had 5 separate components to connect just to create the structure which is quite fiddly and time consuming, reducing the lack of children’s interest in the game before it has been put together.
2. Balance.
- It has been shown that the game often falls over as is being played causing parts to separate.
My design would be constructed as one solid form that can be transported easily. There is no need for assembly of the parts because it is already assembled eliminating the problem of a complicated assembly. All the user needs to do is add the colour coded sticks and marbles. It has a much larger base than the original allowing it to have more balance.
As an afterlife this Ker Plunk could be used as a Bedside Night light for children.
