Serenity - This was a lamp-shade designed for the interiors of Agashiye, a restaurant in Ahmedabad, whose interiors required a very simple yet effective lighting source. The designs were inspired from nature and very irregular in form. The fabric was stitched, crushed, pierced, sandwiched and chemically treated to get the desired result. The final product takes its inspiration from origamy, the art of cutting and folding paper.
Flower valley - The project was based on designing a floral print and developing several co-ordinates based on it, to give it a form of a collection. The co-ordinates are such, that they can be used individually, or in combination with the main print. The print involves lot of small details, which impart versatality to it.
Celebration - This was a collection based on the concept of multi-layered weaving in order to get strong, bold surfaces. The collection was a heady mix of bright colours, textures and materials, inspired by "Teej", a festival celebrated in Rajasthan.
Down to Earth - This was an exercise in creating simple surfaces using both regular and irregular patterns, inspired from various sources. The colours used are earthy and meant for apparel wear.
Threads of Continuity - This is an example of the versatality of hand stitching, where one can see the same stitch being used for quilting (as in Kantha), for surface decoration (as in Kathiawadi embroidery) and for creating the fabric itself by overlapping small pieces. The detailing of stitches and the interaction of colour changes accordingly.
