corrected bottles - For ID3 at UIC. The class focuses on digital renderings. These are my first using illustrator. I had posted an earlier version with the labels curved the wrong way in the reflection. The times show how long each one took.
Weighted Tennis Racket - For ID3 at UIC. Line drawings and renderings in illustrator. The weighted handle can be used first to adjust overall balance, but also to strengthen wrists during practice.
Wall mounted Entertainment Center - With more TV's being wall mountable, standard storage shelves don't work anymore. This very assemble-it-yourself, IKEA style shelf is my solution to the problem of where to mount accessories and store DVD's.
keyboard - illustrator line work for ID3 at UIC for a keyboard. I'm not real happy with the side or perspective views.
keyboard color - Illustrator render for ID3 at UIC. Meant to look like it is from the same product family as my beloved Gateway FX laptop! The perspective view is funky looking, and I'm not crazy about the side view, but I am happy with the front and top views.
Robot Action Figure w/capsule head - illustrator line drawing for ID 3 at UIC. I see this being about happy meal toy size. The head is like one of those bubble containers in vending machines. Candy, other figures, etc, could be put inside.
Generic assault rifley looking thing done in illustrator. Meant for practicing "drawing" lots of different geometric shapes in illustrator in perspective.
fishing lure - A crankbait head with a back end meant to hold a twister tail. If you fish you should know what this means (sorry everyone else). The lip in front makes the lure swing from side to side when it is reeled in. The tweek in back just before where the hook starts helps to hold the twister on. I think this thing would be great for jumbo perch and smallmouth in Lake Michigan.
Totally Rad MP3 player - An mp3 player designed for ID3 at UIC. Meant to appeal to the 70's/80's generation. The USB attachment slides in and out by moving what looks like the opening for the tape. The spools can be used for shuffling through tracks and adjusting the volume.
More photoshopping. Adjusting the location of the pickups gives a totally different sound to an electric guitar. In most guitars however, the locations are set and you can only adjust which are active with a toggle switch. This guitar lets you fine tune your sound by letting you slide the pickups to new positions. Unfortunately, I don't know if this might cause a problem with interference between magnetic fields, hmm...oh well, that's what engineers are for.
watershoe - Photoshop render for ID3 at UIC. Learned how to use imported textures. The clouds in the background are photoshop brushes from obsidiandawn.com. This is an amphibious beach/surf shoe. That part that looks like a sock is part of the shoe! It is meant to give a more secure fit as you move through the water.
backpack/purse - backpack designed for ID3 at UIC. Tried to go with a high end look on this one.
hose nozzle - For ID3 at UIC. A heavier duty hose nozzle. Most nozzles seem kind of cheap, so I wanted to make one that looked more substantial. The less pistol like form would allow the user to keep their arm less bent at the elbow and might be more comfortable. The hose screw on attachment part come straight down so as lessen the vector forces of gravity. The trigger is longer for two finger operation again to seem substantial.
Grasshopper Bike - Frame shape inspired by Beijing Olympic bicycling icon shape. I like the way the rider's body curved in that shape, so I tried to work it into a bike. I have no idea why, but for some reason the bike looked like an insect to me so I colored it green and named it grasshopper. Which, of course, relates to the Kung-Fu TV show which brings it full circle back to China.
