This was a renovation for a Cafe at the Daily Herald office building in Arlington Heights. I was on an "appearance committee" charged with the effort to improve the gray, cold space. I took a "before" photo, overlayed a sketch, prepared a budget and timeline, and presented ideas to the board. The project was approved and completed within two weeks. Working with existing interior floral supplier, we repurposed silk plants from elsewhere in the building, I painted a 40ft custom mural and custom wall painting effects on all other walls, hired a carpenter to complete the fencing for the vending and private dining areas, including wainscot and trim around food prep areas, hired a seamstress to create custom awnings over both areas and food prep service area, created a custom door applique sign, created a custom wall sculpture in a picnic theme, purchased and assembled four garden-type benches, and had Monet prints framed and hung...within the two week deadline.
