Plant Vessel
Plant Vessel - Three-dimensional volumetric vessel form inspired/informed by a Kalanchoe beharensis drake plant. Built by vacuuforming polystyrene over a lathed wooden mold, the geometric form took cues from the plant’s symmetrical growth patterns and aggressive demure.
Strict radial symmetry and other geometric features found in the kalanchoe beharensis drake plant informed the vessel’s design. Plan views and mechanical drawing techniques were an integral part of the mathematically-conscious design process.
