Nespresso Design Competition Entry 2007 - Selection of sketches and development of the design entry.
Nespresso Design Competition Entry 2007 - The coffee houses have a tradition in bringing people together through conversation and experiences, and this is what the design tries to achieve. In Italy it is a tradition to drink coffee after a meal and the design is perfect for the after dinner scene, especially when you have your friends around. The Nespresso Tepore combines coffee luxury and relationship to provide a greater coffee experience.
Nespresso Design Competition Entry 2007 - Inspiration used to drive the design forward. We felt Alessi have created products that have a successful relationship with the user and this is what the design is trying to achieve.
Nespresso Design Competition Entry 2007 - Final model of the design. The handles on each cup are placed in that position as it promotes closeness between one another. The design is completely different from any other coffee drinking products, and this will make the drinking experience even more memorable.
Nespresso Design Competition Entry 2007 - More views of the final model. The cups have a raised collar which allows the user to get a more deeper smell of the coffee's aroma. The cups are rounded so they will need to be kept in the dock like design. This again allows for a sharing experience with the other user.

Research-Based Project - Paintbrush. - The design of the paintbrush has not really been developed for many years. Everybody has used a paintbrush and they put up with the problems that the design produce. I have chosen a B&Q paintbrush for my research.
Research-Based Project - Paintbrush. - First hand research was done on five users. Explicit and latent needs were addressed via questionnaires and photography during the research.

Research-Based Project - Paintbrush - The 'Do It Yourself' (DIY) target market was chosen. These are the people who may paint their house every once in a while for jobs that do not require decorators. This maybe every couple of months or so. Once the research had been gathered, design needs can be formulated for concept generation.
Research-Based Project - Paintbrush. - Concept generation was inspired following aspects. Ergonomic data and the understanding of how fatigue in the body (more so in the hands and wrists) occurs aided the concept generation. Aesthetics of other high-end DIY products was also inspirational.
Research Project - Paintbrush. - Selection of sketches and renderings for the development of the paintbrush.

Research-Based Project - Paintbrush. - Quick photoshop render of the chosen concept, providing details.
Research-Based Project - Paintbrush. - Showing how the needs of the users have been met by the newly developed paintbrush concept.
Listerine Brand Project - Final document outlining the design brief, design language and final concept. The project deals with users checking the freshness of their breath.
Listerine Brand Project - Opening pages of document. Using colours and images to represent Listerine.
Listerine Brand Project - Images and words representing Listerine's brand platform. This allowed myself to gain a better understanding of the brand and the users.
Listerine Brand Project - Looking into other designs that share some values similar to Listerine. The designs were inspirational in the final concept. Some very first initial sketches included.
Listerine Brand Project - The final concept in its packaging. The design is packaged in a "blister" style pack which is placed on a euro hook. There is one disposable concept per pack. The packaging insert contains information of the product. The shape of the insert draws the user to the liquid and colour chart - USP.
Listerine Brand Project - Final concept and step by step process of use. The product contains a tongue blotter and scraper, both of which are attached to the frame similar to modeling kits (snap of the component). You first blot, then scrape the tongue. The scraper is then placed into the liquid and the solution changes colour to determine the freshness of your breathe.
Listerine Brand Project - Exploded diagram of the concept and its packaging. Details on materials and manufacturing included. Again describing how the design fits into Listerine's brand and its values.
