BBC Canada wanted to announce to stakeholders in media companies that unlike most news websites, local and worldwide news was free to view on their website. We created an eDM, a DM piece and consumer press/poster concepts to accentuate this fact.
DM - A digital video card
Upon opening, John Simpson reports from a war torn part of the world. Throughout we hear explosions, machine and artillery firing. Just as he’s about to reveal the location and the reason for the conflict the film stops and a subscription fee panel pops up. We then hear a VO from the BBC informing us that the news, no matter what or from where, is free on the BBC Canada website.
