Electronic Golf Swing Coach - The head tracking was accomplished by using inexpensive MEMS gyros and accelerometers, a small battery powered microprocessor, a microphone and a speech chip all residing in the unit clipped to a hat. This unit allowed us to track the head from the stillness of the setup position through the swing, to the impact of the ball, in all six degrees of freedom. The resulting device is able to give instant tonal feedback at the time the golfer’s head moved outside of the given parameter set. Two seconds after the end of the swing, we communicated to the user by verbal feedback, the movement that caused the infraction. The power in this device lay in its ability during a golf swing to give instant feedback, allowing the golfer to re-train muscle memory towards a consistent swing. We designed a custom PDA that is RF linked to the head unit to store individual swing data and show the golfer an animation of the most recent incorrect head movement. Swing data can then be uploaded from the PDA to a website. The pro can access the website, analyze trends and re-set individual parameters for the user as necessary. The pro can then send these new parameters to the user via e-mail and through the PDA web link re-write the parameters to the head unit. The head unit is currently in production and will sell for approximately $200.00 retail.
Custon Commercial and Residential Furniture - Designed furniture for high end residential and office environments. Significant on-site research required to define the needs of the end users. Office units needed to be mobile and reconfigurable. Residential millwork reflected the owners aesthetic aspirations within existing architectural limitations. All units had very careful attention paid to aesthetic detail; most units were used to showcase aspects of the home or office
Navy Seals Attack Boat Cabin Top - The Navy needed to create a new cabin house for the MK-V, a high-speed Navy SEAL boat used to carry two SEAL teams into a special operations theatre. Due to the craft’s hi-speed and wave piercing capability the original design of the cabin house was caving in creating equipment and personnel losses. The concept we came up with was a composite exoskeleton clamshell that created inherent structural integrity. The structure allowed for a series of patterned openings for same size modules to be easily inserted, removed or re-located as dictated by the mission coordinator. The crew was now able to be in a fully enclosed temperature controlled environment. Also able to outfit the cabin house with any system of modules from lights to FLIR, to weapons and hatches etc. All modules had the ability to be quickly removed or inserted into any opening using a simple four-latch system. The entire cabin house could be removed and nested within the MK-V in 45 minutes. The MK-V could then be loaded into a C5-A transport plane to be deployed anywhere in the world for duty in 24 hours.
Custom Machine Design and Branding - Over a five-year period helped to re-design this companies entire line of existing machines to reflect a more up to date look while reinforcing a 30-year-old well-known brand. Designed a new machine that used plastic compression molded parts and cast parts giving them a new look at a substantially reduced manufacturing cost.
Air Mouse - Designed and developed and patented a unique mouse that clips to the hand allowing the user to click and move the cursor while being able to type, without removing the mouse. The client approached with a challenge to design a wireless mouse. With full capabilities typical to all standard mice on the market today The resulting air mouse provides a visionary computing solution that reduces fatigue and injuries. Ergonomic research provided several concepts for the user to wear the mouse, allowing the user to type and use the mouse simultaneously.
SPEC-OPS Portable SatCom Antenna - This Lightweight Portable SatCom antenna is a radical departure from exsiting equipment for today's Warfighter. It replaces a 300 lb AC powered antenna (Non tactical). This system weighs less than 25lbs can Auto-Acquire a Sattelite beam in under a minute and can receives 29.51 Mbs/sec or 19-T1 lines of data. Allowing forward deployed Special Operators to view Predetor feeds and other data before engaging a target. It saves lives on all sides of any conflict.
