Nortel BCS3000 - Our design team was asked to re-design the existing BCS3000. The objective, in addition to improving the products usability, was to create an aesthetic unlike any other Nortel product. The final product was to be used heavily as a marketing and sales tools in an attempt to sell to new markets.
I was responsible for the design and 3D modelling of the plastic parts - the cover, the inner bezel and the pack latch.
Nortel BCS3000 - Concepts - Initial concepts were drawn using Adobe Illustrator. Due to the relatively two dimensional nature of the majority of network elements, numerous convincing visuals could be made quickly.
The concept with the glowing blue Nortel brand badge was the concept that was chosen and further developed.
