The basic form inspiration is a traditional lantern, but with a totally transparent body. This makes it easily identifiable as a lantern, but makes its technological basis clear. The inside electronics are customised and planned out to give a clean appearance.
The design features a single mould based production to simplify production and inventory management.
Polycarbonate plastic moulded body has been used to provide durability, scratch resistance, and impact strength to the product.
The lantern has been used in various government programs in rural India.
It has also been featured in NDTV/TERI's Greenathon initiatives, and has been distributed in Ladakh after the cloudburst calamity as part of a relief program.
