Lighting Workshop Jali is a term for perforated stone carving, mainly seen in Islamic Architecture. Taking Jali as my inspiration I created a unique tessellation for a backlight panel. The use of such a pattern and the dias was to give an Indian look as was expected in the assignment.
Folding Furniture This folding ladder is made for kitchen areas in small houses, focusing on the user and space constraints. I tried to achieve a model which has a simple form and mechanism. It can be easily placed as it requires minimal room. It is multi-purpose, as it works as a seater whose need is well justified in small kitchens.
Enlightening Scrap The concept of up cycling of scrap material by giving it more value as a product was the focus in designing the key lamp. The keys were obtained from a market in the Old City of Ahmedabad.
Taking giant water lily leaves (victoria amazonica) as my inspiration, I have made coasters. I focused on the intricate vein structure and their unique feature to support weight on them, which I have attempted to incorporate in the product.
Creative Workshop A mixture of both vintage and retro was the style I tried to achieve in the wall lamp. The dim yellow light creates a comfortable and relaxed environment corresponding to the theme.
Elements of Form Taking starfruit (carambola) as my inspiration I incorporated the fruit’s features in an ornate hanging lamp. I also explored the weaving technique in achieving the desired form.
