The Lotus Museum of India occupies a recently renovated five story building in Los Angeles California. The 11,700 square foot ground floor has two primary entrances and serves as an entrance to the museums cultural exhibitions above. The concept behind this design is Excavating-Neo-India. Layered with physical, visual & tactile Depth a topographic like progression explores the traditional Indian aesthetic in various modern translations. Cascading spaces will inspire visitors to explore and rediscover the vast wealth of India’s cultural heritage both old & new. The Lotus Flower - a symbol of infinite potential, renewal, & transformation is the namesake to the museum itself & the inspiration for the grid of the museums’ design.
