For this project we learned about the artist Romare Bearden who was an African American artist. He was involved in the Harlem Renaissance and is well known for his collage work. We were inspired by this artist and made a collage of our neighborhood to show where we live. In this assignment we used some non-destructive techniques such as the fill layer, layer masks, and using adjustment layers. My piece of artwork reflects my neighborhood because it shows the nature and trees. My favorite part of this assignment was creating the houses out of different textures and pictures. Over all, I met all the requirements for this project to show my neighborhood in an accurate and creative way.
