A table designed to create a harmony between wood and cement. Using the two materials to work systematically together and allow for the flex of wood to not crack the cement.
Laser cut acrylic was used to create the mold for the concrete slab. This smooth surface created the polished effect on the concrete. Wire was used to add structure and decrease the chance of cracking.

After cutting the pieces of wood to size, a dado was cut out of the top piece to fit the concrete slab. A pin was placed in the concrete slab before it dried so that it could fit into a hole drilled into the wood to keep the concrete from sliding.
