After wanting to add an LCD screen to our pen line for many years at Leapfrog we were finally able to pull it off!
The Leapstart Go pen has interactive audio ,video animations, and still images that brings your Leapstart learning books life and helps explain things in a whole new level.
We did lots of kid testing and were able to keep the product as small as possible with a custom lithium battery and varied wall thicknesses. I was able to incorporate some co-injection molding with TPU on the grip and also in the upper LCD screen area that provides a soft bumper for the LCD screen.
The articulating screen addresses issues with packaging so you can see the screen from the front view at POP and then it can angle back to different degrees for usage.
The retailers and marketing teams loved the dark color scheme. I was not sure it would be a hit when I included it into my proposals. My HK counterparts helped knock this out of the park! *Some early prototypes are also featured.
