NEW FORMS FOR LIGHTING + SEATING IN PUBLIC SPACES
Original research and observation of human behavior in relation to lighting and seating in public spaces. Also, research into forms, functions and meanings of lighting and seating in public spaces throughout history and across cultures. Development of concepts for new forms, functions and meanings in public seating and lighting.
Materials:
• Multi-level seating: Wire-brushed, clear anodized aluminum
• Lighting: Sandblasted polycarbonate, lighting hardware
• Lighting details: 12-volt bulbs (halogen, PAR or MR-16) located in column base.
• Reflector dish is hyperbolic, causing light to reflect both straight up and outward through the column.
