The film is set in the late 1930s, the minor Hungarian noble Count Laszlo de Almásy dreams of his lover Katherine; the intelligent beauty in the Sahara Desert. This film inspired my designs in many ways. I took inspiration from the 1930 clothing designs and stitches and my fabric choices were inspired by the warm desert for Spring/ Summer collection and "chill" of World War II for the Fall/ Winter collection. The film also contains a beautiful melodic, melancholy soundtrack that seamlessly flows throughout the picture. I designed the garments to have a similar moody, elegant, essence and flow.
