Scarborough Public Baths - Year 3

The project is for the design of a public pool combines the use of hot spa baths with a system of natural pools flowing out from the building. Water in these pools is filtered through areas of reeds and aquatic plants. The building is split between heavy concrete elements enclosing the heated baths and the lightweight timbre and glass natural pool. The facade uses a system of timbre fins to filter sunlight larger timbre posts as supports for the concrete roof.

Circulation and changing rooms occupy a structural, concrete core of the building. In contrast to the concrete walls timbre flooring runs through the structure and out over the landscape in the form of decking.
