UpCycle is an urban bike parking solution which replaces a car parking space in cities. It houses 20 bikes in an upright position. Users can book a spot using a mobile app or permanently reserve a spot at a location frequently visited. RFID technology grants users’ access to a unit which triggers the bays to move around the inside which conserves space as users do not enter the product. Users do not need to bring a bike lock or worry about theft or vandalism. An assisting arm helps users mount their bikes in the upright position making it inclusive for people of all physical abilities and caters for heavier E-Bikes. The project is still being refined however I am now working with manufacturers and software developers.
