Resilience Health, CPAP
The task is to redesign and improve a discontinued CPAP (continuous positive air pressure) device called the CF800 for use in developing nations. The core team consist of myself, a cardiologist and clinical engineer using our combined connections to source manufacturing and prototyping. There are two main aims, the first being to improve the user experience and simplicity of use as well as improve shipping and robustness, this task was executed by myself at the end of September. The second is to implement a Venturi system, driven by a compressed oxygen source, which removes the need for an air supply. This reduces the sizes of the flow meters as they are exchanged for a Venturi device with an adjustable tapper and an oxygen dial flow regulator. We aim to have the first working prototype up and running for medical testing by the start of the new year.
