The design focuses on using the strength of the cabinets themselves to support the transverse stresses, thus allowing minimal materials and a single repeatable design for any unique cabinet size. Reusable sheet-metal ramps allow cabinets to roll onto the 'pallet' and clamps were designed to match the standard cabinet attachment points to secure them. The resulting design was in a prototype stage as I was returning to UT Austin but promised to save upwards of $10 per set.

Consolidated Pallet Concept

At CPI, each individual IT cabinet had its own unique pallet. I saw this as an opportunity to design a consolidated pallet to reduce significantly our packaging/shipping costs as well as dedicated warehouse space for pallet storage.
