Dye Garden & Natural Dyeing
To aid in engaging students further at the London College of Fashion in sustainable creative practices & to pursue a personal interest in color from plants, Liz planned a dye garden, organized volunteers, nurtured plants from seed, harvested, foraged & processed dyestuffs, & successfully dyed fabric & yarn for fashion use.
All colors have been achieved through the extraction of dyestuffs from the garden, or from wild foraged goods that were gathered in a responsible manner. The variety of colors available from natural sources is great & the process of dyeing inevitably results in unique yet rewarding outcomes.
