Graphics - Partner project
Concept - Vivienne Westwood's pieces embody a punk Renaissance--scientific proportion and geometric shapes are skewed to become alluring and asymmetrical. She established herself as a designer using vivid colors and challenging proportion.
Floor Plan Level 1 - The intent of the space plan was to set the reception desk into the middle of the plan. Once a patron enters, they are encouraged to wander the corridor and to view the designs. The goal is to encourage people to explore. Spaces include: designer studio, reception and lounge, sewing and fabric storage, display corridor, senior designer offices, conference, tea bar and cafe, back of house.
Floor Plan Level 2 and Mezzanine - A dynamic staircase was designed to create interest. It is skewed (the run is not continuous nor is it aligned and floor plates change material). On the upper level, a picture of Westwood is adapted into a stained glass floor. This allows light to pass below to the lounge in addition to creating interest. Spaces include: display, lounge, bridal showroom including samples, and Westwood's private studio and support staff.
RCP Level 1 - Featuring barrel vaults and a rotunda.
RCP Level 2 and Mezzanine - Featuring a custom sculptural display hanging system.

Materials - Plush, punk fabrics are used to add personality and punch to the space.
South Elevation: Barrel Vaults and Niches - Created using a combination of CAD, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
North Elevation: Stairs, Tea Bar, and Bridal Showroom - Created using a combination of CAD, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
West Elevation: Tea Bar and Stained Glass - Stained glass album covers become a focal point within the design. They are used to connect the levels of stairs. Below the staircase a tea bar has been integrated.
Reception - The interplay of scientific design and alternative style so alive in her clothes will also be the foundation of the store’s interior design. Cathedral grandeur will be juxtaposed with modern lighting, punk rock music, and graffiti.
Display Corridor - Graffiti artwork (work specific to Westwood) has been applied within the grand display corridor. Niches house the new line. Beautiful antique pieces enhance the aesthetic. A more whimsical play of space can be seen at the end of the corridor; custom stained glass artwork and a sculptural display hanging system.
Lounge - The lounge becomes a quite, plush space with the addition of vibrant pink carpet and a lowered soffit. Cafe Manchester can be seen amid plaid millwork and metal mesh drapery. Beyond the stairs is a bold wall of reflective, iridescent glass. This feature hides the 'back of house' staff and offices.
Furniture Plan Level 1 - The space plan of all rooms is intended to be open and accessible.
Furniture Plan Level 2
Lighting Fixtures Level 1 - All light fixtures are recessed with the exception of the chandeliers. The intent was to create modern lighting conditions to contrast with the Renaissance architecture.
Lighting Fixtures Level 1 - A custom sculptural element was designed to create visual interest in addition to whimsy. The white rod-iron piece provokes a shabby chic feel. It meanders across the ceiling and entangles at a specific location--here it falls through all levels of intersecting floor planes, easily seen from all levels. Each vine serves as a ‘hanger’ for a featured design.
