A Spatial Portrait

A Spatial Portrait - thousands of diodes create a three-dimensional interactive canvas - “A Spatial Portrait” - a vibrantly colorful three-dimensional interactive sculpture by the international artist Leni Schwendinger is installed at the Liberty Science Center. The sculpture, commissioned by the New Jersey State Council of the Arts, is composed of 108 strands of light emitting diodes (LEDs), each 8 feet long, which create a dazzling show of light in real time. The installation captures the movement of every visitor to the Center as they circulate throughout the Great Hall – resulting in an ever-changing “spatial portrait.”
