Fretwork Table
This little table was made from solid maple, hand-cut on a scroll saw. This was back in the day, before I knew what a laser cutter or CNC machine was. It's definitely a different experience cutting it all by hand. It takes forever, of course, and it's impossible to cut the exact same piece twice, but I feel a certain affection for it because of that.
Special thanks to my high school woodshop teacher, Mr. Piltz, who taught me everything I know about making furniture and helped me make impossible things such as this. A truly great craftsman.
Solid maple, 39.4" tall, 13.4" diameter, 2007.
