My final year individual project was based on improving the maneouverability, saftey and ease of use of hockey and football goal posts. At present, both sports have separate types of goal posts which must be switched in and out of the usable position on the pitch. This can place a lot of strain on the body, can take excessive amounts of time and can be frustrating for those moving the heavy products. Therefore, I developed a solution that combined both hockey and football goal posts to make a hybrid product. Using specially designed mechanisms, the goals can expand and contract, both horizontally and vertically, to meet the dimensions required for both sports.
