ESI // Backpack Sound System - Two Monsoon flat panel speakers, a Li-Ion power source, and a 2.5 inch sub-woofer bring this sound system to life. A plug-n-play peripheral, it plays MP3 files, CDs and more once your sound player is connected. Designed as an accessory to Ford Motor Company's "FORD FOCUS ZX3", the target group is the 20-30 somethings, who are looking to bridge the gap between technology's constant evolution with an outdoors/mobile lifestyle. The design is modular with 3 components - the FRAME: encasing all hardware; EVA PADDING: providing user comfort & support; MEDIA BAG: sandwiched between the former two, holding your music and personal effects. SPECS: Modeled in 20lb Polyurethane Foam, Aluminum, 3-way Stretch Lycra, EVA foam.
PEAR // People.EArth.Rescue - People, Earth, Rescue - the driving theme of this project. This First-Aid capsule is deployed after Search and Rescue teams end a search during the evening, or are called off due to hazardous and uncharted terrain. Acting like a beacon in the air and on the ground, its purpose is to increase survival rates of lost victims. The capsule contains food, water, a space blanket, 2-way radio, first-aid medicines and a list of instructions that help facilitate the person's rescue. A built in GPS navigation system in the PEAR helps S&R base camp monitor the area 24hrs a day. If someone comes across the capsule and opens it, a signal is sent to rescue crews. Essentially a few of these are dropped in the wilderness based on a search radius of where the victim was last seen; it also can be tailored to particular persons who need special medications or equipment. SPECS: Modeled in Alias Studio Tools // 20lb Polyurethane Foam, Acrylic, ABS vaccuformed plastic.
Eve // Helmets for the city cyclist. - On the streets of San Francisco bicyclists are at the mercy of the drivers - in any congested urban street in fact! Yet not all riders wear helmets. My goal therefore was to design a helmet that moved away from the aggressive styings of your 22-vent MTN Bike and Road cycling helmets and create a new market niche of bicycle products - the urban bike commuter. The helmet features 7 large cooling vents, with 2 that can open and close; stark contrasting color schemes like that of street signs; 2 white-dome LEDs in the front, and 2 red-dome LEDs in the rear help increase the rider's vertical footprint. SPECS: SM/MED, Ferrari Yellow and Jet Black. Modeled in Polystyrene Blue Foam, Fiberglass and Polyurethane vent-inlays.
HCP (work in progress) - A "blue-sky" concept that combines the styling cues of motorcycles with bicycle saddle-bags. The objective here is to design a streamlined hardcase pannier bag that makes your bicyclist stand out on the road. The HCP has 1 main storage compartment, and a smaller one for personal effect. 2 rip-stop nylon pockets sit on either side for additional storage and provide forward momentum and a lowered center of gravity. SPECS: Modeled in Alias Studio Tools // 20lb Polyurethane Foam.
