The Toaster Project - This was my first model-making class when I was at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Everyone in the class built the exact same toaster and we were graded on our tolerances and overall finish. Our tolerance for the toaster was 1/32th of an inch and everything was built entirely from scratch.
Flip Screen Project - Just like the first model-making class, we were all given the same product to build for the second class. Also, we had to build this entirely from scratch and our tolerance was smaller, 1/64th of an inch.
Ready For Assembly Coffee Table - This project was for a furniture design class at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. We were told to design a ready for assemble piece of furniture. I wanted to do something different, something that stood out a bit. I did not want to use any screws, nails or any sort of fasteners. Simply put, this table is like a puzzle. when the last piece is put into place, it holds itself together.
