Ripple - a sofa table
In this object two physical basic elements are combined: liquid and solid. A ripple based on a variable length sine wave is placed in the corner of a rectangular surface to create a "disturbed pond effect". The surface is left uncovered for the feel of the wood; this object is to serve not just as a visual and functional piece but as a haptic one aswell. The wave top is on the same level with the table surface, so the table is also easily coverable with a piece of glass if needed.
Solid birch wood, powder coated steel.
