AERIS for MartinPro - Aeris is a redesign of Martin Pro’s leading moving head, the MAC2000. Aeris’ greatest improvement is that it no longer contains gobos, shutter and effect modules. A DLP chip and a different lens system replace these mechanical components, including 13 step motors. By implementing digital technology, it is possible to project video and endless gobo animations on stage, and to make of Aeris a more reliable product. Designed in collaboration with industrial design students at AAU.
body shell construction - Shells are made of thermo plastic PA6, a nylon polymide combined with glass fibres, for strength and stiffness purposes. Material thickness is set to 2.3mm as a requirement, as it must function as flame retardant. Product is structured with steel, but aluminium is employed in components that are not structurally important, such as shells. Cast magnesium is used for the grills/radiators, for its lightweight and heat dissipation properties.
handing aeris - Aeris' design aims at improving handling mainly for concert set up. The mechanical locks for the pan and tilt movements are very easy to access, and it is evident, even from a distance, if they are locked. Thus, setup time can be significantly reduced. Conversely, Aeris' display interface is placed at an angled surface to facilitate the user-machine interaction during setup. Designed in collaboration with industrial design students at AAU.
head optical system - A DLP chip (Digital Micromirror Device) and a different lens system replace mechanical components, including 13 step motors. The design takes into consideration appropriate heat dissipation by conduction and forced convection. Designed in collaboration with industrial design students at AAU.
CNC 1:5 model - A new style for moving heads. A new product line for MartinPro, implementing new digital features.
