KNIT - KNACKS : embroidered washing machine drum stools
KNIT-KNACKS is a series of vibrantly fun embroidered washing machine stools. I worked on these with my partner Xavier Baghdadi, as part of our upcycling project named JUNK MUNKEZ.
It is an entirely hand made process in which international as well as traditional patterns from the region are sewn onto a scrapped industrial bulk. Each unique in its own way; the stools' patterns rely on the perforation matrices on each washing machine drum.
The cushions' stability come from the hidden fan cage incrusted at the center. Giving a good harmony between bounciness and rigidity.
They each have a hidden storage compartment below the cushions.
