In this project we were given a brief to design a sports product for the Great Britain Olympic team for the 2012 Olympic games in London.
The sport that I chose was Hockey and I decided to improve the safety of the game with a product to minimise injury to the hands and wrists.
I designed this protective glove that field players could wear on one or both hands.
It is made up of flexible yet strong rubber plates that cover the weakest areas of the hands e.g. the knuckles and fingertips and also the larger bones in the wrist.
Then on the inside of the glove I designed a grip to improve how the player holds and maneuvers the Hockey stick. It is small, lightweight and durable and most importantly complies with all the International Hockey standards and regulations .
