For this project, I was assigned to fix a problem within the home. I chose the issue of cleaning make up brushes. Most people do not have time to clean their brushes, and when they do, it is hard to get them completely clean. When people avoid cleaning their brushes, it leads to many different health and hygiene issues. To solve this, I designed and developed Ayoni. Ayoni is a brush with a built in cleaning mechanism. It has a hollow outer shaft with a silicone lined inner shaft that can be removed for cleaning. Water and cleaning fluid are then pushed through the hollow shaft with the inner shaft into the bristles. This is done through holes in the brush head where the bristles are set. This ensures a thorough cleaning, with very minimal effort. The hair dryer attachment can then be secured to the hollow shaft to blow dry the bristles from the inside out, which speeds up drying time.
