Talavera is a type of majolica that comes from the state of Puebla in Mexico. I learned this technique and did this piece at a traditional workshop while my time in Mexico. Talavera is made with local clays, white base glaze and decorated with cobalt blue. Designs are regulated by tradition & passed on through generations from craftsman to craftsman.
