DESIGN ISSUE :
Challenged by the onset of age, Cairnhill Community centre is being neglected, under-utillised as it's surrounding wealthy estates boasts more impressive facilities and activities.
"MACE" aims to bring the crowd back to Cairnhill community centre, located in the precinct of Singapore's Newton district, which neighbours the hip and trendy Orchard Road.
MACE seeks to cater to the abundant amount of affluent PMETs which live in the area, hence the proposal to create a "wine experience centre" which provides the sale, tasting, learning experience of wine.
The centre will also feature wine tasting rooms, function rooms for wine appreciation classes, a museum of modern-industrial wine making & a wine-bar which will attract the nearby workers looking for a place to relax after office hours.
