This project is part of a bigger interdisciplinary design project involving fashion, product, animation and graphic design. As a product design group, our objective was to find a design problem in a given airlines company and develop a solution for it. After researching, we realized that service trolleys were not seen as a design issue and almost all Brazilian airlines used the same model in their airplanes. Responding to this opportunity, we decided to redesign the airplane trolley. Following the general security standards for all aircrafts, we strove to improve the user’s experience. The new trolley has multiple storage sections and flexible ways to organize them, powerful brakes to guarantee stability while serving passengers, three discrete wheels for good mobility, and a lid to cover the food in case of unexpected turbulence. In the development stage, I researched, conceptualized, sketched and developed the product, together with a 5 person design team.
