The lamp shade casts subtle shadows through the layering of materials to create ambient lighting in a living room; in a corner or next to a couch. The materials are low cost and the lamp is easy to manufacture. The overall aesthetic was heavily influenced by Scandinavian and Nordic design tradition with its light and discrete presence and limited use of materials. The lamp would be easy and cheap to manufacture, with material cost for the prototype totalling $30.
