In my thesis year, I chose to create an interactive website to teach children about New York’s Drinking water. It provides information for kids to easily learn about drinking water through a story-based concept on the web. It creates a fun, quick, and easy way for children in elementary school to learn about how drinking water is processed through faucet sinks, plumbing, pipes, purifying filtration, ocean water, reservoirs, and back around to our kitchen sinks. This informational interactive online data visualization helps kids learn about their daily New York drinking water by easily scrolling through scenarios that show where our drinking water travels and how it becomes safe enough to drink. After they look through this web site, my goal is their use of water behaviors will change in their homes.
