Cultural Toolbar - Due to the shear vastness of the country and the immensely varied culture, designers face
a challenge in moulding their work to the needs of the local users. Especially in case of budding designers where the investment in terms of time and money required for this research proves too big a hurdle to be overcome. To create a cultural toolbar that will be a plug-in to various graphic and web design softwares. What we propose is a central data base of exhaustive information about the 28 states of the nation that might be required by the designers. We then go further and create an interactive device which, apart from this library of information, will contain a cultural toolbar.
This toolbar can act as an advisor to the designer.
Museum Navigator - Graphical User Interface for Museum Navigator::
The interface shown here is for software that will help the visitors in a Museum to make their visit more memorable. The concept is to incorporate Experience design, in order to make an interactive device that will make the whole experience of navigating through a museum more pleasurable and memorable. This includes providing the user the freedom to do things like magnify the images and
rotate them in order to know more about the particular exhibit.
The User centered Design Process was followed here. It involved taking usability principles into considerations, creating personas, doing task analysis, information
architecture etc.
Interactive Story Telling Device - The concept was to create a tangible story telling device for the teenagers.
The inspiration was taken from the fact that as teenagers children always like to share an incident that has happened in his/her life with his/her friends.
The device helped the users in clicking photographs from the day to day life activities , edit it, and add music if wanted and then send it to his/her friend who also has one of these devices.
Website for Alcheringa - The task was to make a website for the Alcheringa: the IIT Guwahati Cultural festival.
