2008 Election Vote Poster

This poster was created in a screen printing class at Illinois State University in October 2008, then presented in the 2008 Election Show at the ISU University Galleries. Entries for the show would encourage students to vote in the 2008 Presidential Election.

For my poster, I wanted to create a simple design that conveyed the style of election posters in the 1950s. I used simple, direct symbols representing both parties with talking bubbles emphasizing the major talking points. Regardless of the viewpoints for each party, everyone can agree one should exercise their individual choice to vote. The "vote" type is written in purple, a mix of red and blue, the colors representing the democratic and republican parties. Created using Adobe Illustrator, printed onto a film positive, then screen printed using red and blue ink.
