Munchee is an interactive food tray and a cutlery set that encourages young fussy children, aged between 3 and 6, to finish their meal. A plate has been specifically designed to dock into and out of the foodtray by using two central magnets. The plate has been designed to allow suitable food portioning for children up to the age of six. Within the foodtray, there is electronic weighing technology that senses the weight of the child’s meal. As the weight of the meal falls, seven LED 'stars' light up in seven increments. These LED stars act as a reward to the child for their eating behaviour. The cutlery has been ergonomically and aesthetically designed to encourage the child to use their knife and fork from an early age (age 3 upwards).
