Menstrual Awareness and Sanitary Waste Management
What are the wicked problems around us? Where does our waste go? This is how our ‘Systems design’ project started. Tracking the different types of waste, and understanding the different processing involved for each also made us realize the lack of a proper system for the disposal and treatment of sanitary waste in our country.
Living in a patriarchal society filled with myths and taboos, the first step to this problem is spreading awareness and changing the current perception about menstruation to men and women, boys and girls. Getting a collection system in place for household sanitary/biomedical waste is also our top priority.
